The majestic vaulting of this hall makes us think of the vaulting Edwin Lutyens used in Rashtrapati Bhavan. It is not inconceivable that this was an inspiration, since Lutyens visited Mandu on the suggestion of the Viceroy Hardinge, to gain inspiration from Indian architecture.
